1. Stephen H.¹ Lewis was born in Baltimore, Maryland May 1830.⁽¹⁾ Stephen died January 30, 1908 in Baltimore, Maryland, at 77 years of age.⁽²⁾ He died in Bay View Asylum. His address was given as Widley Ave., in the Govans District of Baltimore. His occupation was given as blacksmith. He died from exhaustion, contributed by erysipelas, which was an infection disease of the skin and mucous tissues casued by streptococcus. His body was interred February 1, 1908 in Baltimore, Maryland, at St. Mary's Cemetery.⁽³⁾ St. Mary's Cemetery is at 2900 Roland Ave., Baltimore, MD. According to a note of Jura Lewis', Stephen is in Section V near or in Lot 6. The owner is listed as Elsworth Lewis. W.E. Chenowith and sons, 919 3rd Ave, handled the funderal services.

He married Martha A. Moore in Baltimore, Maryland, April 9, 1856. Martha was born in Baltimore, Maryland September 7, 1838.⁽⁴⁾ Martha was the daughter of Barnett Moore and Rachel Culber. Martha died August 29, 1900 in Baltimore, Maryland, at 61 years of age.⁽⁵⁾ She died from tuberculosis after a six month illness. She died in the home of her daughter at 3226 Cedar Ave.

Her body was interred August 31, 1900 in Baltimore, Maryland, at St. Mary's Cemetery.⁽⁶⁾ St. Mary's Cemetery is located at 3900 Roland Ave. According to a note of Jura Lewis, Martha is buried in Section V, near or in lot 6, owned by Elsworth Lewis. The funeral was conducted by A. T. Marshall Undertaker.

4. Charles Ellsworth² Lewis (Stephen H.¹) was born in Baltimore, Maryland July 1861.⁽²²⁾ Charles died October 30, 1945 in Baltimore, Maryland, at 84 years of age. On October 30, 1945, Charles Ellsworth Lewis, aged 84 years, husband of the late Kate E. Lewis.

Funeral services at his home, 6211 Mossway, on Thursday afternoon at 3 o'clock. Interment in Druid Ridge Cemetery. His body was interred November 1, 1945 in Pikesville, Baltimore County, Maryland, at Druid Ridge Cemetery.

He married Kate E. Pyle in Baltimore, Maryland, 1885.⁽²³⁾ Kate was born in Pennsylvania April 1861.⁽²⁴⁾ Kate died September 15, 1931 in Baltimore, Maryland, at 70 years of age. On September 15 1931, Kate E. Lewis, aged 70 years, beloved wife of Charles E. Lewis.

Funeral services at her home, 6911 Wildey Ave., Govans, on Friday morning at 10:30 o'clock. Internment in Druid Ridge Cemetery.

Her body was interred September 18, 1931 in Pikesville, Baltimore County, Maryland, at Druid Ridge Cemetery.

Charles Ellsworth Lewis and Kate E. Pyle had the following family:

18 i. Elsie Lee³ Lewis was born in Baltimore, Maryland June 1887.⁽²⁵⁾ Elsie died July 31, 1961 in Baltimore County, Maryland, at 74 years of age.⁽²⁶⁾

On July 31, 1961, Elsie Lee Lewis, formerly of 6211 Mossaway, beloved daughter of the late Charles E. and Kate Pyle Lewis, and devoted sister of Esther G. Lewis and the late Bertha Lewis.
Services from the Glenn F. Seitz Funeral Home, 5209 York Road, on Thursday at 2 P.M. Interment in Druid Ridge Cemetery. Friends may call between 4 and 9 P.M.

Her body was interred August 3, 1961 in Pikesville, Baltimore County, Maryland, at Druid Ridge Cemetery.⁽²⁷⁾

19 ii. Esther G. Lewis was born in Baltimore, Maryland December 1889.⁽²⁸⁾ Esther died February 15, 1970 in Maryland, at 80 years of age.⁽²⁹⁾ Her body was interred February 19, 1970 in Pikesville, Baltimore County, Maryland, at Druid Ridge Cemetery.

20 iii. Bertha L. Lewis was born in Baltimore, Maryland October 1890.⁽³⁰⁾ Her burial information suggest she was born between October 1 and October 16th. Bertha died December 1919 at 29 years of age. Family lore says she died on a trip out west. Her burial information indicates she was 29 years, 2 months, and 15 days old when she died. Her body was interred January 3, 1920 in Pikesville, Baltimore County, Maryland, at Druid Ridge Cemetery.

21 iv. Infant Lewis was born in Baltimore, Maryland Before 1900.⁽³¹⁾ Infant died Before 1900 in Baltimore, Maryland.⁽³²⁾

5. Edward Eugene² Lewis (Stephen H.¹) was born in Baltimore, Maryland January 16, 1865.⁽³³⁾ Eddie died April 2, 1917 in Baltimore, Maryland, at 52 years of age. He died from diabetes. His body was interred April 4, 1917 in Baltimore, Maryland, at Woodlawn Cemetery. Section 43, Lot No. 1 & 2, Deed No. 1248

He married Ella Jane Weihunt in Baltimore, Maryland, about 1892.⁽³⁴⁾ Ella was born in Maryland February 1872. Ella was the daughter of --?-- Weihunt. Ella died October 25, 1951 in Baltimore, Maryland, at 79 years of age. Her body was interred October 25, 1951 in Baltimore, Maryland, at Woodlawn Cemetery. Section 43, Lots 1 and 2, Deed No. 1248

22 i. Arthur Monroe³ Lewis was born in Baltimore, Maryland October 28, 1893.⁽³⁵⁾ Arthur died December 3, 1969 in Baltimore, Maryland, at 76 years of age. He married Alda A. Harrell in Baltimore, Maryland, 1922. Alda was born in North Carolina June 18, 1904. Alda died May 8, 1992 at 87 years of age.

23 ii. Marion Susie Lewis was born in Baltimore, Maryland September 22, 1895. Marion died February 18, 1967 in Baltimore, Maryland, at 71 years of age. Her body was interred in Finksburg, Carroll County, Maryland, at Evergreen Memorial Gardens. She married Alexander Earl Welsh in Baltimore, Maryland, November 22, 1915. Alexander was born in Waverly, Baltimore County, Maryland November 8, 1894. Alexander died April 22, 1982 in Baltimore County, Maryland, at 87 years of age. His body was interred in Finksburg, Carroll County, Maryland, at Evergreen Memorial Gardens.

24 iii. Edward Eugene Lewis, Jr. was born in Baltimore, Maryland July 20, 1899. In the 1900 Census, Edward's parents give his birth date as July 1899. On his 1918 draft registration card, Edward gives his birth year as 1900. Edward died February 1987 in Baltimore, Maryland, at 87 years of age. He married Ella Mary Pace December 31, 1919. Ella was born December 8, 1901. Ella died April 16, 1977 at 75 years of age.

25 iv. Margaret K. Lewis was born in Baltimore, Maryland November 3, 1908. Margaret died March 11, 1995 in Harford County, Maryland, at 86 years of age. She married Lester Alger in Baltimore, Maryland, about 1926. Lester was born in Virginia about 1900.

6. Agnes G.² Lewis (Stephen H.¹) was born in Baltimore, Maryland November 1869.⁽³⁶⁾

She married twice. She married James W. Petett in Baltimore County, Maryland, 1888.⁽³⁷⁾ James was born in Virginia December 1869.⁽³⁸⁾ James died March 1905 in Baltimore, Maryland, at 35 years of age. His body was interred March 24, 1905 in Baltimore, Maryland, at St. Mary's Cemetery. She married James T. Snelling in Baltimore, Maryland, about 1905.⁽³⁹⁾ James was born in Virginia April 1865. James died October 15, 1931 in Baltimore, Maryland, at 66 years of age. His body was interred October 17, 1931 in Baltimore, Maryland, at St. Mary's Cemetery.

Agnes G. Lewis and James W. Petett had the following family:

26 i. Charles Ellsworth³ Petett was born in Baltimore, Maryland April 28, 1894.⁽⁴⁰⁾ He married Eva Williams in Baltimore, Maryland, before 1918. Eva was born in Maryland 1891. Eva was the daughter of William J. Williams. Eva died between 1920 and 1930 at 29 years of age.⁽⁴¹⁾

27 ii. Stephen Alexander Petett was born in Baltimore, Maryland April 13, 1897.⁽⁴²⁾ Stephen died November 22, 1946 in Baltimore, Maryland, at 49 years of age. His body was interred November 25, 1946 in Baltimore, Maryland, at Baltimore National Cemetery. He married Ethel May Hare in Baltimore, Maryland, around 1918.⁽⁴³⁾ Ethel was born in Maryland December 26, 1898. Ethel was the daughter of Geroge W. Hare and Anna C. --?--. Ethel died June 19, 1986 in Baltimore, Maryland, at 87 years of age. Her body was interred June 23, 1986 in Baltimore, Maryland, at Baltimore National Cemetery.

7. Walter Melville² Lewis (Stephen H.¹) was born in Baltimore, Maryland February 21, 1870. Walter died April 28, 1917 in Baltimore, Maryland, at 47 years of age. He died in Bay View Hospital, Baltimore, MD. from blood poisioning after a fall from a telephone pole. His body was interred May 1, 1917 in Baltimore, Maryland, at St. Mary's Cemetery.⁽⁴⁴⁾ According to a note of Jura Lewis, Walter is buried in Section V, in or near lot 6.

He married Lillian May White in Baltimore, Maryland, September 5, 1895. Lillian was born in Relay, Baltimore County, Maryland May 27, 1869. Jura Lewis' notes give the Relay birthplace. Lillian's death certificate gives Remington. Lillian was the daughter of William White.

Lillian died September 16, 1939 in Baltimore County, Maryland, at 70 years of age.⁽⁴⁵⁾ She died from broncho-pneumonia.

Her body was interred September 19, 1939 in Baltimore, Maryland, at Voshell Memorial Gardens.⁽⁴⁶⁾ According to a note of Jura Ressler, Lillian is buried in grave No. 337, Row 1 A. The name of the cemetery was changed from St. Paul's Cemetery to Voshell in 1990.

Walter Melville Lewis and Lillian May White had the following family:

28 i. Elmer Melville³ Lewis was born in Baltimore, Maryland January 21, 1896. Elmer died September 18, 1896 in Baltimore, Maryland, at less than one year of age. His body was interred in Baltimore, Maryland, at St. Mary's Cemetery.

29 ii. Ella Gertrude Lewis was born in Baltimore, Maryland July 23, 1898.⁽⁴⁷⁾ She was a twin to Edward Eugene Lewis Ella died November 4, 1918 in Baltimore, Maryland, at 20 years of age.⁽⁴⁸⁾ She died from tuberculosis. Her body was interred November 5, 1918 in Baltimore, Maryland, at St. Mary's Cemetery.⁽⁴⁹⁾ According to a note of Jura Lewis, Ella is buried in Lot 21, Section W. She married John Clinton Geisel in Baltimore, Maryland, September 15, 1915. John was born in Baltimore, Maryland December 4, 1892.⁽⁵⁰⁾

30 iii. Edward Eugene Lewis was born in Baltimore, Maryland July 23, 1898. He was a twin to Ella Gertrude Lewis. Edward died August 8, 1898 in Baltimore, Maryland, at less than one year of age.

31 iv. Robert Melville Lewis was born in Baltimore, Maryland March 11, 1900. Robert died December 17, 1985 in Baltimore County, Maryland, at 85 years of age. His body was interred December 20, 1985 in Bel Air, Harford County, Maryland, at Bel Air Memorial Gardens. He married Jura Ressler in Baltimore, Maryland, March 4, 1923.
Jura was born in Butler County, Iowa February 10, 1905. Jura was the daughter of Herman Jacob Ressler and Ida Josephine Miles.
Jura died August 8, 1983 in Baltimore County, Maryland, at 78 years of age. Her body was interred August 11, 1983 in Bel Air, Harford County, Maryland, at Bel Air Memorial Gardens.

32 v. Walter Edward Lewis was born in Baltimore, Maryland March 8, 1902. Walter died January 4, 1983 in Baltimore, Maryland, at 80 years of age. His body was interred January 5, 1983 in Baltimore, Maryland, at Louden Park Cemetery. He married twice. He married Margaret Right in Ellicott City, Howard County, Maryland, August 6, 1923. Margaret was born November 25, 1903. Margaret died October 16, 1960 at 56 years of age. He married Friedericka Flock in Baltimore, Maryland, January 12, 1942. Freida was born April 26, 1903. Freida died August 1986 in Baltimore, Maryland, at 83 years of age.

33 vi. Raymond Mason Lewis was born in Baltimore, Maryland August 3, 1903. Raymond died October 11, 1971 in Baltimore, Maryland, at 68 years of age. His body was interred in Baltimore, Maryland, at Louden Park Cemetery.

34 vii. Sherman Spencer Lewis was born in Baltimore, Maryland April 17, 1906. Sherman died August 8, 1906 in Baltimore, Maryland, at less than one year of age. His body was interred in Baltimore, Maryland, at St. Mary's Cemetery. According to a note of Jura Ressler's, Sherman Spencer was buried in Lot 12, Section W. This lot belongs to Sherman's uncle, James W. Petett.

9. Leo Howard² Lewis (Stephen H.¹) was born in Baltimore, Maryland January 18, 1879. Leo died May 20, 1944 in Baltimore County, Maryland, at 65 years of age. Suffered from Chronic Asthma.

He married Margaret O'Brien in Baltimore, Maryland, December 12, 1899. Maggie was born February 5, 1882. Maggie died July 20, 1939 in Baltimore, Maryland, at 57 years of age. Died from cancer.

Leo Howard Lewis and Margaret O'Brien had the following family:

35 i. Joseph Edward³ Lewis was born in Baltimore, Maryland May 15, 1911. Joseph died April 6, 1989 in Baltimore, Maryland, at 77 years of age. He married Clara Slaga. Clara was born June 23, 1913. Clara died December 31, 1995 at 82 years of age.

36 ii. Charles Melvin Lewis was born in Baltimore, Maryland June 11, 1914. Brother died August 16, 2002 in Baltimore, Maryland, at 88 years of age. He married Mary Lelia --?--. Mary was born August 4, 1913.

38 iv. Mary Catherine Lewis was born October 10, 1924. Mary died September 14, 1994 at 69 years of age. She married James Michael Sloman. James was born July 12, 1912. James died August 4, 1990 in Baltimore County, Maryland, at 78 years of age.
